An armed man shot a gas-station employee in the neck Thanksgiving afternoon in the Hamline-Midway neighborhood, police said. The suspect arrived at a SuperAmerica at 717 Snelling Ave. N. near Minnehaha Avenue about 4:40 p.m. Thursday. The assailant approached employee Jason Gatrell, who was working outside, ordered Gatrell into the store at gunpoint and told him to open the locked area behind the cash register, police said. Promising rapper and singer Lil Peep’s life has been cut short at the young age of 21. TMZ reports that the Long Beach, New York native, born Gustav Åhr, was found unresponsive on his tour bus in Arizona Wednesday, November 15. He was taken to a hospital where he was declared dead.
